Distance 4 Dreams is always looking for those students on campus who are interested in getting more involved. Surrounded by new found friends, there is no better way to push yourself to new limits physically.
Anyone is welcome to come to our events, but if you are interested in playing a larger role, training with the team, or just building a bigger network of friends while supporting a great cause, we encourage you to register with the team.

Distance 4 Dreams members are required to:
• Attend monthly Distance 4 Dreams organizational meetings
• Take part in at least 5 fundraising events
• Attend at least one guest speaker

All of the work that we do throughout the year culminates in the gift of A Special Wish to a family as they venture to Disney World. The celebration is also for our members, as they have been training for a full or half marathon which they will complete the second weekend of January in Disney World. Most of our members do take this opportunity to spend time with friends, meet the wish family, and see what all of their work has given to the family. If you had to pick one reason people participate year after year, it would be seeing the smiles on the faces of everyone down at Disney World and the euphoric feeling of knowing that you have really made a wish come true.

contact ud@distance4dreams.org for any further questions!

Because we would like to dedicate all of our funds to granting the wish, each member is responsible for his or her personal costs for the trip down to Disney. Through our group rates with Disney, $330 will cover three nights in a Disney resort, a laser light and fireworks show, two dinners, a D4D tech shirt, and registration for the half or full marathon. For runners who are interested in participating in the Goofy Challenge (both races), there is an additional cost for two race registrations. Since the Marathon Weekend is during UD’s winter break, all members participating in the race weekend are responsible for their own transportation to and from Disney. We will assist members in booking flights. We do recognize that this is a significant financial commitment for students to bear and we do our best to provide resources to help alleviate these burdens. Please contact us for more details.

Members can also fully participate in all Distance 4 Dreams fundraisers, intramural teams, training runs, and other events without traveling to Disney. We do ask that these members pay a small membership fee to cover the cost of participation.

If you are interested in running with us in Disney or working with us on campus, please contact ud@distance4dreams.org.

We also have an ever-growing number of alumni, family, and friends who join us for Disney Marathon Weekend! Distance 4 Dreams alumni, family, and friends can also contact ud@distance4dreams.org for registration information.
